Akrotiri Monasteries:
Agia triada – Gouverneto – Venizelos Graves
The monastery, whose name means “Holy Trinity“, was built in the 17th century.
The monks produce and sell wine and olive oil on the premises.
The monastery of Agia Triada of Tzagarolon is one of the richest and most beautiful monasteries in Crete.
Gouverneto Monastery:
is one of the oldest monasteries in Crete, as it was built in 1537.
Gouverneto Monastery, or Our Lady of the Angels as it is also known, is on the Akrotiri Peninsula, about 4 km from Agia Triada Monastery
It is situated on a rocky site at an altitude of 260m, near the entrance of the gorge Avlaki and is built with fortress architecture!
Theriso
Theriso – Zourva – Meskla
is located to the south of Chania at the top of the Theriso gorge. The 14 km drive up the gorge is considered spectacular and is popular with Chania residents for the wild landscape and grill restaurants of the village. Theriso is a historic village and the birthplace of the mother of Eleftherios Venizelos.
Zourva:
After Theriso the road winds curvy up to a height of 720m, then slightly downhill towards Zourva. Zourva is a amazing mountain village with unique nature landscape.
Omalos

Omalos is situated at the northeastern corner of the Omalos Plateau 38 km south of Chania in the White Mountains (Lefka Ori)
Omalos, and specifically Xiloskalo (1250m), is the starting point for the thousands of visitors of the famous 18km long Samaria Gorge.
Agia Irini Gorge:
It starts near Agia Irini village, it’s the second most visited gorge after the gorge of Samaria. Amazing wild & nature landscape!
Temenia Village is on of the most beautiful mountain villages in Chania!

Chrysoskalitissa Monastery
is a 17th-century Eastern Orthodox Christian monastery located on the southwest coast of the island of Crete.
Elafonisi is an island located close to the southwestern corner of the Mediterranean island of Crete, of which it is administratively a part, in the regional unit of Chania. When the weather is fine it is possible to walk to the island through the shallow water. The island is a protected nature reserve. It is known for its pink sand beaches, created by tidal and wave-induced deposits of pigmented microorganisms living in a symbiotic relationship with native seaweed. Exotic beaches with white sand and turquoise water as Caribbean!

The road to Elafonisi is narrow and full of turns but the beauty of the landscape is amazing!!!
Arkadi monastery
Arkadi monastery – Eleftherna Ancient city – Traditional village margarites
Arkadi Monastery:
It is built at an altitude of 500m, on a fertile plateau with olive groves, vineyards, pine, cypress and oak trees.
The monastery played an active role in the Cretan resistance of Ottoman rule during the Cretan revolt of 1866. 943 Greeks, mostly women and children,sought refuge in the monastery. After three days of battle and under orders from the hegumen (abbot) of the monastery, the Cretans blew up barrels of gunpowder, choosing to sacrifice themselves rather than surrender.
Rethymno Town is one of the most beautiful towns in Crete!
Eleftherna was an ancient city-state in Crete, Greece, which lies 25 km southeast of Rethymno. Archaeologists excavated the site, located on a narrow northern spur of Mount Ida, the highest mountain in Crete. The site is about 1 km south of modern town of Eleftherna, about 8 km north east of Moni Arkadiou.It flourished from the Dark Ages of Greece’s early history until Byzantine times.
Margarites Traditional Village:
Margarites is a small village located in Rethymno Perfecture, known for its pottery, which constitutes a local tradition and widespread occupation since the Minoan times. Today, the settlement constitutes one of the most important centers of pottery and ceramic art in Crete.
